RELIEVE PAIN

ENHANCE PERFORMANCE

“I had the opportunity to have Kelly Wright perform bodywork on me while I was pregnant with my first child (while she was pregnant too) and after I delivered my second child. Her work is very dynamic and adapted to different needs at different times of my pregnancies. These sessions were a wonderful balance of massage/pressure points, relaxation, stretching, mindful breathing and realignment. Kelly is an extremely warm, loving individual who in these sessions delivers a kind of emotional attention (as well as physical) that leaves you feeling cared for and supported as an entire person. Knowing very little about Rolfing, both times I was a little guarded and fearful. She really eased these fears and let me take the lead of my sessions – where I felt in control throughout. In my post-partum session, she was able to alleviate some intense hip/back pain I had been experiencing during pregnancy and early post-partum weeks. I would recommend Kelly’s treatments for brining relaxation and balance and getting rid of some aches and pains that accompany pregnancy! It’s a wonderful experience in so many ways!”-Miriam

“The last weeks of pregnancy were tough on my body. I gained a lot of water weight and was very swollen, especially on my lower legs and feet. When sitting for long periods at work, I would be very stiff every time I stood up. Finally labor came, but this dramatic event left my body very fatigued and very sore. Kelly Wright provided me with post natal body work the day after I returned home from the hospital. At the time, I felt very vulnerable both emotionally and physically. Kelly provided a very supportive and comfortable environment for me. She is so kind and considerate. When there is so much focus on the new baby, it was nice to step away for a brief period from my new parenting duties, to relax and have someone focus on me and my care. This gave me a little time to think and feel about the new me as a mother. Kelly's body work felt great. It left me relaxed, but rejuvenated. Before the body work, I was waddling around and after the body work, I was walking normally. Also, I believe the body work helped simulate my circulation and expedite shedding of my water weight; soon my legs and feet were back to normal, which felt and looked amazing. I would highly recommend Kelly Wright to all my friends and family.”-Kelly

“My postpartum Rolfing experience with Kelly was calm and nurturing and her presence was confident and peaceful that brought my edginess to a lower level.
I have definitely been an uptight mom overall, but after giving birth I was the most uptight. Physically, my shoulder and arms were tense from holding and nursing my newborn, I was mentally worn down from lack of sleep as all new mothers are, and I was worried constantly about whether I was doing things right or even ok. My pelvis and structural frame felt completely out of wack. I was sore to say the least.

Kelly made me feel supported with a motherly touch that made some of my worry melt away. She made sure my baby was secure while she did my bodywork and kept an eye on him so I could relax. She was aware of the pressure intensity I wanted or didn't want and with her knowledge and expertise, I felt confident I was in good hands.”-Jennifer

“Kelly came to my house a couple of days after I gave birth to my son. I was so overwhelmed with post birth hormones and gratitude for her willingness to come so quickly after I asked that I broke out in tears! Not only was the body work restorative and healing after such a big life change event, but Kelly's knowing compassion and sensitivity was such a welcome presence when I felt like I was in such a vulnerable place physically, mentally and emotionally. I would highly encourage any woman to seek such treatment after the birth of a child as I felt it really helped put my feet back on the ground and aided in the healing process tremendously. The chance to have that work performed by Kelly, another mama who has been there too, only makes for that much more of a healing experience. Thanks Kelly! I will always be grateful to you for your gift to me! “-Chelsea

“Kelly contacted me when I was pregnant and asked if I’d like to have her work on me after the birth. When I asked her how much it cost, she said there was no charge. I can’t remember her exact words, but basically she felt that so many people reached out to her after the birth of her daughter, that she wanted to give some of that good energy back. She came over a few weeks after the birth of my son. My back was tied in knots from the strain of a 43-hour labor and all the new work my body was having to do to take care of an infant, especially hunching over—holding, nursing, changing, bathing. She set up her table in our house while my son was napping, and then worked on me for almost two hours. She was patient and thorough, and did not rush through any part of the process. Her dedication to her practice shows in her knowledge, focus and compassion. She is a pleasure to be around, with an always optimistic and positive outlook. She has the air of a true healer. “-Anna

“I received a wonderful post-natal Rolfing session from Kelly Wright, certified Rolfer a few weeks after my daughter was born. While the birth was fairly straightforward (and my second birth), I was still quite sore and my body was out of alignment, specifically my pelvis. Kelly used gentle adjustments that caused me no pain, and within hours and days I was really feeling much relief. Contrasted to my first birth, after which I did not get this kind of Rolfing adjustment, I was in pain for months; every time I tried to go out for a run, I had shooting pain down my inner thighs. I really believe in the great work Kelly is doing and highly recommend it to anyone and especially moms who have given birth.” -Laurel

"Kelly came to my house to work on me both right before and after the birth of my first baby. I loved that she came to me as I wasn't in the mindspace of leaving the house during both those times. It was great working with Kelly as she was incredibly strong and knowledgeable of what my body needed both prelabor and postpartum, especially having gone through the birthing process herself. During her prelabor visit she worked on my lower legs and back which felt amazing. During her postnatal visit, she helped loosen muscles around my hips and pelvis so that they could realign themselves correctly as my pelvis began to pull itself back together. She is also incredibly compassionate with such a wonderful energy about her outside of the actual physical work she provides. I highly recommend her to anyone going through the birth process." -Lori

“Kelly worked on me for prenatal massage. She made my body feel better and my soul feel beautiful every time. She knows what it means to be an expectant mother and can help you prepare physically and mentally for the challenge ahead. I always feel like I stand straighter and brighter after a session with Kelly.”-Jules

"I was in the end of my pregnancy and I started having some issues that raised concern in my weekly appointment. Tests were done and the following day (the day of my baby shower), I was called and told that I had preeclampsia and would need to be induced. I wasn’t ready… my mom had just arrived, I had just finished work and I still needed to get things ready for this Little One (LO)… not to mention the biggest reason… I dreamed of a home birth and that dream was thrown right out the window!!! Devastated doesn’t even begin to describe how I was feeling. I was desperate. I remembered a conversation a few weeks prior with Kelly while I was getting a massage. She had told me if the time came and my LO was being stubborn that she would be willing to come and do a little work to encourage his departure. I’ve been going to Kelly for rolfing and massage for years and completely trust her and that’s exactly what I needed right then… someone I trusted and could help me through this emotional time. Kelly was so accommodating. She rearranged her day and was there in what was a very stressful time for me. She was so calm and positive through the process. The bodywork was uncomfortable but Kelly helped me breathe through the pain which really helped when the ‘real’ pain started in labor. Since the LO had to come 3 weeks early, medical intervention was still necessary but I really feel that the body work helped clue my body in as to what was ahead and helped guide my body to know how to begin labor. I was
fortunate enough that my body listened to the gentle (Kelly’s work) and not so gentle (medication) prompting and I went into labor. I may not have had my ‘ideal’ birth but I was still able to birth my LO vaginally and we were both healthy and happy. An important lesson was learned that life usually doesn’t go as planned but I gained a new understanding and gifts along the way. I really needed Kelly’s voice and strong motherly energy in labor and I wouldn’t have been given that gift had I not had to be induced.
Once the baby and I were home and settled, Kelly came to my home and gave me postpartum bodywork. It was amazing, particularly because you are giving all of yourself to a new little being and there isn’t much time or energy to give back to yourself. Over this past summer Kelly told me that she purchased the pregnancy insert and I was beyond ecstatic because now mommies can really get comfortable on the table and start the bodywork early on to ready themselves for labor.
If you are wondering what to give an expecting mom or just how to pamper yourself, I highly recommend the gift of Kelly! She is an exceptionally intuitive body worker and has a particular gift when it comes to expecting and postpartum women.”-Stacy
